Welcome to the Term 4 2024 season of Tennis
Venue and Times:
Games are on Thursdays after school at the Stevenson Tennis Centre, Logan Park.
Dates: Thursday 17th October – 21st November 2024 (6 weeks)
Times & Blocks:
- Block 1: 3:45pm - 4:30pm Coaching session
- Block 2: 4:30pm - 5:15pm Coaching session
- Block 3: 4:30pm - 5:15pm Social Doubles
- Block 4: 5:15pm - 6:00pm Social Doubles
Coaching Blocks: Tennis Otago have contracted Professional Coaches who will be using the Hot Shot player pathway program. This program is designed for students to learn and enjoy the sport focusing on age-appropriate equipment, court size and activities to make learning the game fun while developing fundamental skills.
Social Doubles: Social doubles is a way for players to experience match play in a fun and non-competitive environment with a focus on keeping score, sportsmanship, and working with a teammate.
There will be a list of opponents and court allocations displayed on day of. Students participating in this block will have to locate their name and report to their assigned court promptly at either 4:30 or 5:15. Two matches will be played (20-minute increments), a whistle after 20mins will indicate when to rotate courts.
Fees: Fees are $60 for coaching plus $40.00 per person Social Doubles (for term 1), fees include entry to Logan Park Tennis Courts.
Uniform: Navy blue shorts or tracksuit pants, OGHS Tennis top will be provided once fees are paid and online school registration form is filled in. YOU DO REQUIRE YOUR OWN TENNIS RACKET.
Failure to turn up for a game: If for some reason your team cannot play one week, you must inform Ms Hokianga (hk@otagogirls.school.nz)or Mrs Cole (ce@otagogirls.school.nz) before 11am on Thursdays. (It must be a good reason!)
Cancellations: We will be informed by 12:30pm each Thursday if rain cancellations have been made for Logan Park. Cancellation notices will be posted around school, and via the school app.
Lunchtime Training: The OGHS tennis courts behind the gym are available for your use during lunch hour, please contact Ms Hokianga or Mrs Cole if you would like extra coaching.

Payments for registration can be done
- online here when completing the Registration form,
- online via bank transfer using account number 12 3485 0014040 50 and putting Name and Sport as reference, or,
- by paying at the office.
