UPCOMING EVENTS

Otago & Southland Senior Track & Field Championship 2025

- Dates: 15th & 16th February 2025

- Location: Caledonian Ground, Dunedin

- Grade 12, 13, and 14 athletes can enter this event, but are limited to 4 events per day, including Children's events in the morning.

 

2025 Jennian Homes New Zealand Track & Field Championships

- Dates: 6-9 March 2025

- Location: Caledonian Ground, Dunedin

 

Otago Secondary Schools Athletics Championships

- Dates: 14th - 15th March 2025

- Location: Caledonian Ground, Dunedin

 

Otago Children's Track & Field Championships

- Dates: 22nd March (11 am - 5 pm) and 23rd March (1 pm - 4 pm) 2025

- Location: Caledonian Ground, Dunedin

- Open to children aged 6-14 years.

 

Children's Track & Field Program 2024/2025

- Season runs from 12th October 2024 to mid-March 2025

- Weekly interclub competitions held on Saturdays (9:00 am - 12:00 pm) at the Caledonian Ground.

- Age is calculated as of 31 Dec 2024, with children competing in Grades 6 to 14.

Senior Interclub Meets

- Held throughout the summer season (October to April)

- Typically run from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Caledonian Ground

- Open to registered club members and community athletes

 

Fees

School Fee $30 - All events will be charged seperately 

Payments for registration can be done

  • online here when completing the Registration form,

  • online via bank transfer using account number 12 3485 0014040 50 and putting Name and Sport as reference, or,

  • by paying at the office.

Enrolments
All players must fill in the Registration Form.
Trials
Students will be selected for Otago Secondary Schools based on their performance at OGHS Athletics Sports Day this event postponed)
Selection for events after this is 
  • Top 8 in each event at Otago Secondary Schools qualify for Otago/Southland Athletics
  • Top 5 in each event at Otago/Southland event qualify for South Islands
  • Entry is open to all athletes for Nationals 
It is important to note that only FOUR athletes can be selected in each age group (U14,U15,U16 and senior) for each event per school at Otago Secondary Schools.
Volunteers
If you would like to Volunteer as a Coach, Manager or Assistant Manager please contact the teacher in charge. We are always looking for more volunteers and rely on their support.
All non-student coaches/managers must complete a compulsory police vetting form and supply a copy of either a drivers license or passport.
Training
Our senior athletes, and some junior, are part of training squads to receive specialized coaching in their specialist events; e.g. sprints, jumps, throws, long distance.  If you are not part of a training squad but would like to be, please talk to Mrs. Millar to arrange contact with specialist coaches.
