Badminton

TRIALS 2024:

Trials will be held on Friday 5th April 2024, 3.15, OGHS Gym. Please Note - trials are only for students wanting to be in a competitive team and play on Tuesday nights after school during term 2. For social Badminton players there is no trial, just come along to the gym on Friday's after school.

All players must complete the Registration Form.
Payments can be done

online here when completing the Registration form,
online via bank transfer using account number 12 3485 0014040 50 and putting Name and Sport as reference, or,
by paying at the office.

Games: Tuesdays approx 3:50-5.30 End time is location dependent.

FEES for competition in Term 2: $65.00 per person

Trainings
Term 2, Fridays after school 3:15pm till 4:15pm in the OGHS gym
Friday play and learn some skills from our experts - OGHS gym after school on Fridays till 4:15pm. Bring your PE gear and racket if possible
Volunteers

If you would like to Volunteer as a Coach, Manager or Assistant Manager please contact the teacher in charge. We are always looking for more volunteers and rely on their support.

All non-student coaches/managers must complete a compulsory police vetting form and supply a copy of either a drivers licence or passport.

Equipment required
Own Racquet - We only have 12 school rackets that get loaned out in term 2 on a first paid and completed registration basis.

Friday 5th April in the OGHS Gym - 3.05-4.30pm

Start: Tuesday 7th May - Tuesday 2nd July

Shuttles are provided.

Additional Information

Where possible students should arrange to get themselves to Badminton Hall or Kaikorai Valley College. We will have one van doing a drop off run. Priority for spaces in the van will be given to younger students. Caregivers are responsible for their daughter's transport home after the games.

Exchanges: Top players will be playing in the Senior Exchange between SGHS and WGHS, being held in Dunedin - TBC
